Tenant Tours A Success
14/12/2006
Three special events in late November and early December gave residents a unique insight into EMH’s work. The three residents’ tours took groups of participants out on the road to see a variety of homes and activities. The first tour on November 27 was for people living in the north, followed by residents from the south on the 29th and a group from the central region on December 1.

Polly Cox, EMH’s neighbourhood liaison officer, said: “This year we changed the format of the residents' conference. Instead of inviting everyone to spend a day in Coalville, listening to presentations by members of staff, we decided that it would be more interesting to take them out to different housing schemes.” The groups were able to visit new developments, sheltered housing and temporary homes for homeless people, as well as family estates. They also had the chance to take part in a quiz for a prize of £50 worth of shopping vouchers, and to go Christmas shopping with EMH during the afternoon. Polly said: “The change of format worked well and the feedback was extremely positive". Some of the comments made by residents were: “The staff you had on the tour were excellent in every way courteous, helpful and informative.” “It was good and I enjoyed it.” “In general the day was good and couldn’t really have been improved.”
