An era of change
EMH has always moved with the times, making the most of new developments in social housing. The association was quick to embrace the concept of low-cost home ownership in the 1980s, providing schemes such as shared ownership which enable people to get on the first rung of the housing ladder.
The group has been awarded a contract by the Homes and Communities Agency to act as the 'one-stop shop' across the region as an official HomeBuy agent.
Housing for older people and those with special needs has also been a priority. Schemes developed by EMH cater for the particular requirements of women suffering domestic violence, elderly people from different ethnic groups, mentally handicapped people and young offenders.
