East Midlands Housing will be moving to a Choice Based Lettings system in 2010. The basis of the system is that people on local authority waiting lists can bid for vacant EMH properties that will be advertised locally.
We currently have more than enough people on the majority of our waiting lists to fill any vacancies that are likely to arise in the period up to the Choice Based Lettings system becoming operational. We have therefore closed many of our waiting lists to new applicants.
The only waiting lists still open are:
- Homes for single people and families in North West Leicestershire District Council and Charnwood District Council
- Accommodation for Over 55s & Sheltered accommodation

It is important that you complete all the sections within the application form - including the accommodation list - before signing it and returning it to the address at the end of the form.
To assist you in getting a home through the Choice Based Lettings system when it is introduced we recommend that you register with your local authority for housing.
