We are using our status as Homebuy agents for the three East Midlands counties of Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire to promote low cost home ownership products and intermediate housing for those who cannot afford to purchase outright on the open market. We are working with local authorities and other housing associations to develop a greater awareness of the market for such housing within the region and to ensure that they contribute to sustainable communities.
We also provide development agency services to organisations that may not have the relevant resources or expertise to undertake their own activities. We make use of our expertise and track record in delivering development units for these organisations where there is a strong cultural fit and where the needs of the client groups are met.
Through our subsidiary Midlands Rural Housing we are aiming to provide management, development and consultancy services by working closely with individual housing associations in rural communities.
We are developing the role of Foundation Housing Association (FHA) as a specialist provider of BME housing and support services. FHA already has strong roots in the African-Caribbean communities in areas such as Leicester and we will continue to build on that to ensure that FHA is well placed to meet their needs as well as the emerging needs of new migrant communities.
